Just Like A Sister

Filed under: Uncategorized — pognang @ 4:13 pm

Few years ago, Irene and I were teammates to do a Java project. We were tasked to do the backend of the Shopping Cart project. We communicated very well to each other that spelled a good teamwork. When we had difficulties we found ways on solving them without being too stressed. We both know how to relax under pressure :) In our break time we talked about any topic under the sun - our families, her lovelife, our experiences at worrk, personal experiences with God. And one thing in common - We are both Catholics.

We remained friends even after the project. We exchange text messages. We planned to see each other the nth time but have not seen each other since then. Usually, I was the one to be blamed-busy!busy!busy! But I am amaze that she always understand my schedule :) I know that one day we will see each other again :) . She never fail to text on special occasions. And my!, her quotations are really work reading the nth time around.

Before the Christmas eve, Irene greeted me Merry Christmas in her text message. After reading the message, I remembered Irene as an amazing person -young, hardworking, caring, intelligent and most of she has a strong faith to God. I realized that she is not just a friend but she is like a sister to me.

To Irene - All the best this Christmas and always. God bless sistah!

Merry Christmas Everyone

PEP: Karylle explains the ‘mysterious smile’

One of the things that Karylle looked forward to when she decided to transfer from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN was her opportunity to perform with her mother, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, in various Kapamilya shows.

Last Sunday, she was able to sing with her mom for the first time in ASAP ‘08, where she was also give a grand welcome by other Kapamilya stars. Last night, December 16, Karylle performed again with Zsa Zsa during the taping of ABS-CBN’s Pasko Na, Kapamilya: The ABS-CBN 55th Anniversary Special at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The mother and daughter performed with other celebrity parents and kids, like Gary Valeciano with children Paolo, Gab, and Keana; Pops Fernandez with son Ram; and Kuh Ledesma with daughter Isabella.

Karylle admitted that she was overwhelmed by the greetings she got from her new family.

“Very, very nice,” she commented. “One line I can’t forget is my mom saying, ‘Please give the warmest welcome to my daughter Karylle.’ And talagang nararamdaman ko yung love at genuine welcome from everybody.”

On their performance last night, Karylle was still ecstatic by the fact the she is performing with her mother in a show.

“Nakakatawa kasi mayroon kaming picture na malaki ang smile naming dalawa. Napakasaya namin to be on a same stage together. Natatawa nga kami noong nakita namin ‘yong photo, e,” said the 27-year-old singer-actress.

She was also sure that this is just the beginning of working together with her mom. “Siyempre before we would perform together in a concert and stuff, pero ngayon parang mas madalas na,” said Karylle.

THE MYSTERIOUS SMILE. During the short interview, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) also took the opportunity to ask Karylle about the so-called mysterious smile she gave during the “Tough 10 Questions” segment of The Buzz last Sunday, December 14.

She was asked by The Buzz host Boy Abunda, “Buntis ba si Marian Rivera?” Karylle did not utter any word and just gave a smile instead. (Click here to read related article.)

Apparently, Marian was offended by Karylle’s response. She argued, “Makakasagot naman siya [Karylle] dahil may alam naman siya. Sana hindi niya na lang idinaan sa pa-smile-smile.”

When asked for a reaction last night, Karylle just told PEP, “Merry Christmas na lang.”

Karylle explained her side to entertainment columnist Ricky Lo, which was published yesterday on Philippine Star.

“If there were any misinterpretations of my smile, I clarified it [yesterday] morning when I guested on Boy & Kris. Tito Boy [Abunda] even apologized for asking me [that question]. Tita Kris [Aquino] said kasi that it was politically incorrect for him to ask me. I just explained that no matter what I would answer or however my face would react, it would mean something.

“Parang I was in a no-win situation. If I didn’t smile, people would say I was bitter. I was actually trying to figure out what to answer and how to phrase it properly. And then, si Tito Boy suddenly said ‘Thank you!’ and ended the interview,” Karylle explained.- Philippine Entertainment Portal

Karylle admits getting nervous singing National Anthem

Actress-singer Karylle on Sunday said that singing the National Anthem in front of a packed crowd at the MGM Grand Hotel Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada, before the Pacquiao-De la Hoya fight made her so nervous.

Karylle, daughter of veteran singer Zsazsa Padilla, however, said the feeling stopped when fans mobbed her to give their congratulations.

“Grabe nakakanerbiyos pala talaga. Ang maganda roon after nung match ang daming lumapit sa akin. Kinong-gratulate ako at nagpa-picture pa silang lahat (I was so nervous. What’s nice about it was that people approached me. They congratulated and they even took pictures of me),” she said over a phone interview with GMA-7’s Showbiz Central.

Karylle, clad in wine-red Albert Figueras gown, was personally picked by Pacquiao to sing the National Anthem.

She said Pacquiao’s words of encouragement gave her the strength to do her task.

“Sabi niya pinili niya ako dahil alam niyang kaya ko (he told me he chose me because he knows I can do it). It gave me the strength and the courage to do what I have to do,” she added.

Asked if she had seen ex-boyfriend Dingdong Dantes at the fight, Karylle said she was not sure. “Parang nakasalubong ko siya pero hindi ako sure kasi paakyat na ako sa ring.”

Karylle recently parted ways with longtime boyfriend Dingdong, who is in the US for his dance concert with Marian Rivera.

At the same time, Karylle thanked all those who prayed for her and supported her.

She also congratulated her mother Zsazsa for her successful concert dubbed as “Divas 4 Divas” with Regine Velasquez, Kuh Ledesma and Pops Fernandez on Saturday. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV

My Admiration to Manny and Oscar

Filed under: Uncategorized — pognang @ 5:34 pm

I am sick and on leave. fever again…huh! Blame it to the erratic weather.

I was able to watch the Manny and Oscar yesterday. I saw Karylle with her nice gown. It was the most awaited event of December aside from Chistmas. A week before the match, I saw Oscar in an interview. He looked scared and did not talk well. With that interview, I have the inkling that Manny will win…I believe thet we are what we think, “the fighting spirit” I mean.

At the end of the game, my admiration goes to the two of them. Why? i listed below on the wonderful things I saw in both of them:

MANNY

1. He has a strong FAITH in God. he prayed a lot, make the sign of the cross. And whenever proclaimed a winner…the first thing he do, is to vow pray and give thanks…Nakakatuwa!

2. He has the attitude of “Never say die”. He is a man of strong willed.

3. He is discipline and  do his assignments with the mind and the heart.

4. He has a good coach

5. He is clever

6. He is more courageous than Oscar

7. He and his coaching staff has a goos strategy which he was able to implement as planned.

8. He is younger than Oscar.

9. The entire Filipino people is praying for him :) plus the others :)
OSCAR

1. He is a good sport. I like the way he answered the questiosn after the game. ONE OF THE BEST PERSON I SAW WHO HANDLED HIS DEFEAT IN PUBLIC VERY WELL… I like him!

2. He speaks good.

3. He is good looking.
