Tol, Happy Birthday!!!

Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there’s Someone
Who walks through life without you
You’ll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up hands to God,
And He’ll show you the way.

And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

When you feel the world
Is tumblin’ down on you,
And you have no one
That you can hold on to,
Just face the rising sun
And you’ll see hope,
And there’s no need to run
Lift up your hands to God,
And He’ll make you feel all right.

And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

Religion Is a Tool

Filed under: Uncategorized — pognang @ 11:16 pm

On my way to the office, I am always delighted  seeing the rising sun, the beautiful flowers, birds and ofcourse beautiful and courteous people. These are all manifestations of God’s unending love to us which remind me to say a short prayer — just to greet the Lord and say thanks for the new day.

Today is a special day because I was able to pay a visit to St. Peregrine Church early in the morning. What a wonderful feeling to start the day, isn’t it? Also, I say an extra prayer so I can recover from useless anxieties…

By the way, St. Peregrine is the patron saint of cancer patients. He was an Italian , servite priest known in his great preaching and counseling. A miracle happened when his cancer was cured after He saw Jesus Christ touching his cancer.

Oh, this is about saints and catholic faith. Saints in Catholic faith are members who became successful in following Jesus Christ. They serve as inspirations that the church militant(living members) can imitate. I can tell you stories of different saints who had shown sacrificial love …only for Jesus Christ…

Some religious sector, criticize the Catholic Church about saints and Mary and that we are doomed to hell. Do you believe that religion will solely bring you to the ultimate goal of eternal life?

Not me. I do respect all kinds of religion and faith.  I like the 7 pillars of Islam, the teachings of Gautama Buddha, good memories of  pastors of non catholic Christian and of course – the Catholic faith.

In my humble opinion,  religion is a tool that helps us to be better persons, to be pleasing to God’s eyes. It helps us attain our ultimate goal — salvation. There is one God who will judge us based on how we fair in our earthy journey – how we handled the obstacles and challenges along the way. We will not be judge by our religion but by our merits and demerits as individual.

Take the case of Mother Theresa of Calcutta. She was a nun who established the Missionaries of Charity with the aim to serve the poorest of the poor. She put the verses of the bible into action. Being exceptional in loving others but believing in saints as a catholic nun, do you think she is in hell?

This is just a plain thought about religion. Again, I respect all religions. I have many non-Catholic friends included in my Friendster’s profile, whom I respect so much, like Ihrylyn, Liberty, Rocky and Noel.

Religion must not divide us. We are one family and we need to reinforce each other positively. Hopefully someday, we will all be united with God in eternal life.

I’ll be ending this blog with a short song …this is for all you…our way to worship God today…God bless all of us…

You are My Hiding Place

Psalm 32:7
"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.  Selah."

You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance.
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
I will trust in You.
Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of my Lord.

(repeat 3 times)

I will trust in You!
